Phillies win 3 in a row

The Phillies won last night in come-from-behind fashion against the Dodgers, a team that's in front of you in the standings.  Roy Halladay, gave up two runs in five innings of work and the Phillies bullpen held it down for Hunter Pence to deliver on his 2-run single late in the game.  Mike Gill now believes that the Phillies will make the playoffs if they can get their record at home over .500.  Do you agree?

Phillies to offer 6 for $130M

MLB reporter Jon Heyman came out with a new and improved report today saying the Phillies are planning to offer Cole Hamels an offer for 6-years $130M.  Both Mike and Todd believe this is a low ball offer and Hamels can get a larger offer on the open market.  Either way, the Phillies are basing their offer on the latest deal that the Giants gave Matt Cain before the season began.

Bob Nightengale talks Phillies

USA Today Bob Nightengale called in and talked some Phillies with us.  Interestingly, Nightengale thinks the Phillies can make a run saying "Phillies will be this years St. Louis Cardinals."  Nightengale said the Phillies won't trade anyone if they keep playing like they've been.  On Hamels: "I think a 5-year deal is off the table just because there are so many 6 year contracts out there, if Hamels wants to take less money to stay here then a 6/130M sounds right."  Nightengale also says the the Miami Marlins are trying to decide whether to become sellers come July 31st.  Follow Bob Nightengale on Twitter.

Tom Moore talks Sixers

Talked Sixers here with Tom Moore, phillyburbs.com.  He was at the Doug Collins media availability where Collins had some interesting things to say about the additions the team has made.  Both Collins yesterday at the media availability and Rod Thorn on our air, defended Kwame Brown and their ideas for him.  Moore said the most interesting thing Collins revealed was his plans to start Spencer Hawes at the PF position, especially on the defensive end.  The Sixers are deeper and have more size, according to Moore.  Yet, the Sixers still dont have a scorer or a low post defender to block shots.  Tom Moore covers the Sixers for phillyburbs.com
