Sports Talk with Brodes: Flyers Take 2-1 Series Lead, Hart Records Shutout
The Philadelphia Flyers win game three by a score of 1-0. Carter Hart records a shutout saving 23 shots. The Flyers team as a whole blocked 24 shots. The team definitely played better than game two, but there are plenty of negatives.
The power-play went 0-6 and are 1-25 total since returning to the bubble. This is abysmal! Their last three power-plays resulted in ZERO SHOTS! That's almost impossible. Two of those opportunities were in the third period when the score was 1-0. How?! How?! How?! How?!
Alain Vigneault put Robert Hagg in the lineup along with Michael Raffl. Shayne Gostisbehere and Joel Farabee were healthy scratches. Vigneault wanted to play a more physical game, which they executed.
For the only goal, Claude Giroux ripped a shot and it hit off Jakub Voracek in front of the net. It found a way past Carey Price who was hard to crack all night, although it wasn't as if the Flyers had too many opportunities.
