After rising from near rock bottom to have a playoff spot well within their reach, Flyers GM Ron Hextall rewarded the rest of the players on the team with a veteran presence in goal that signifies they are here to finish what they have started, to make the playoffs and see what happens from there in the postseason.

The Flyers have acquired goalie Petr Mrazek from the Detroit Red Wings for a pair of draft picks, a conditional fourth-round pick in 2018 and a conditional third-round pick in 2019.
