The Phillies just ended a nine-game home-stand at 5-4 and embark on a six-game road trip starting tonight in Detroit. They enter this week in third place in the National League East Division, two games behind Washington with a 25-19 mark.

Earlier today we learned the the Phillies would promote first baseman Tommy Joseph to the big league club from AAA Lehigh Valley.

ESPN's Jayson Stark reports that the Phillies have called up Tommy Joseph from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, no corresponding move has been made at this time. Joseph was acquired in the 2012 trade that sent Hunter Pence to the Giants, he was hitting 347 with six homers and was leading the International league in OPS...

The 2016 season for the Phillies is one with not a whole lot of expectation besides their young talent development. 29 games into the season, it may be time to consider adding some more youth to the club, especially with guys like Darin Ruf and Emmanuel Burriss stumbling offensively...
