According to a report from Sports Radio 790 in Houston, the Texans were interested in trading for Eagles quarterback Matt Barkley, before trading for Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallet

In a recap column, Jimmy Kempski deemed Barkley's arm strength a "major concern," and suggested the 23-year-old may not last much longer in the league. (Getty images)

The reports surfaced earlier today that the Texans had interest in trading for Eagles’ third-string quarterback Matt Barkley, before trading for Ryan Mallett with New England. Reports indicate the Texans were offering a conditional 6th or 7th round pick, which appears was not enough to pry Barkley away from the Eagles. Clearly the Eagles seem to be more committed to Matt Barkley, then we originally thought.
