The Timber Creek Chargers were in Hammonton two weeks ago, they dropped a tough 24-17 game in overtime.

This time, they made sure it didn't get to that point.

With Hammonton driving, at the Timber Creek 11-yard line, Josh Bevan's pass fell incomplete at the Chargers held off the Blue Devils to win 30-24 in the South Jersey Group IV semi-finals.

The win sends Timber Creek into the finals to face Shawnee, a 28-14 winner over Bridgeton on Friday night.

Hammonton got on the board first in the second quarter with a 7-yard run from Mitchell Vitali.  Timber Creek answered when sophomore quarterback Devin Leary found Cameron Chambers for 29 yards to make it 7-7.

A 26-yard field goal by Tyler Coluccio made it 10-7 at halftime in favor of Timber Creek.

The Chargers got on the board first when Leary hit Ezrah Archie for a 4-yard score, making it 17-7.  Hammonton fumbled the ball right back to Timber Creek, who recovered it it with a chance to put the game away.

However, Leary's pass was picked off by Izick Flores who went the distance to make it 17-10.

Timber Creek answered right back with a Harold Coleman 5-yard run , making it 24-17 at the end of three quarters.

It was Vitali again for Hammonton, tying the game up at 24-24, as he ran 12 yards with 7:51 left in the game. Hammonton would get a stop, but fumbled and Timber creek recovered at the Hammonton 26 with 4:16 left in the game tied 24-24.

Coleman added his second score of the night, a 22-yard run to make it 30-24, the extra point was blocked.

On a fourth and-two Hammonton got the first down by an inch to keep their drive alive at the Timber Creek 11.  But with 5.4 seconds left, Bevan's pass feel incomplete as time expired.

Timber Creek's defense held and got the revenge they were looking for in Hammonton.
