For the first time since October 29th, the Philadelphia Eagles will play a game with a 1 pm Kickoff and they will have a familiar face on the opposing sidelines: Former Eagles Defensive Coordinator, Jonathan Gannon, will lead the Arizona Cardinals into Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday.

For their game on New Year's Eve, the Eagles have Ruled Out one player along with listing two players as Questionable, and are welcoming back two starters.  After not practicing all week, Cornerback Darius Slay was officially ruled out for this Sunday's game.  Slay, who is recovering from Knee Surgery, has not been placed on Injured Reserve so there is a possibility he could play in NFL Week 18.

The two Eagles listed as Questionable for the matchup with the Cardinals are Linebacker Zach Cunningham and Tight End Albert Okwuegbunam.  After missing the last two games with a Knee Injury, Cunningham returned as a Limited Participant at Eagles' Practice this week.  Without the Veteran Linebacker, Philadelphia has played Shaq Leonard has played the most snaps of any Eagles interior Linebacker in the last two games.

But the Eagles got some good news on Friday, starting Linebacker Nicholas Morrow will be able to return to the field after missing the Christmas Day game with an Abdominal Issue.  Morrow has the third most Solo Tackles on the Eagles' Defense this season (50) and he has compiled Five Quarterback Hits while starting 10 games this season.

The other starter returning for the Eagles this Sunday is Left Guard Landon Dickerson.  After having Thumb Surgery, Dickerson did not practice in the days leading up to the Christmas Day game against the New York Giants.  But the 25-year-old Pro Bowl Guard was a Full Participant at practice this week and will return to an Eagles Offensive Line rated as the best in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus.

An interesting name to keep an eye on ahead of Sunday's 1 pm Kickoff is Cornerback Avonte Maddox, who was ruled out for last week's game but was a Full Participant in practice all of this week.  In order for the Eagles' starting Nickel Corner to return to the field on New Year's Eve, Philadelphia must officially activate him from Injured Reserve and make a roster move for the 27-year-old Defensive Back to be officially available to play this weekend.  Maddox, who suffered a Torn Pectoral back in September, has not played since NFL Week Two when the Eagles played the Minnesota Vikings.

For Jonathan Gannon's Arizona Cardinals, they have listed four players as Questionable, including starting Quarterback Kyler Murray who returned to practice on Friday.  Murray has started six games for Arizona this season after missing the first half of the season as he continued his recovery from tearing his ACL last season.  Murray did not practice most of this week as he was dealing with the Cardinals are calling an Illness.

The Cardinals ruled out three players for their New Year's Eve game against the Eagles, including two starters: Wide Receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Defensive End Jonathan Ledbetter.  Brown has the second most receptions for Arizona's offense this season (51) and is being placed on Injured Reserve with a Heel Injury that Head Coach Jonathan Gannon says should not require surgery.  Ledbetter has played the most Defensive Snaps of any Arizona Defensive Lineman this season.  The 26-year-old Defensive End was having the best statistical season of his NFL career before sustaining a Knee Injury that will end his 2023 season.
