The Philadelphia Sixers enter the 2023-24 season with a huge cloud hanging over their heads before the season even begins

James Harden wants to be traded and has said he will not play for the team again, so we again have a stare-down between a star player and the organization.

With or without Harden, they’ll open the season Oct. 26 at the Milwaukee Bucks, Nick Nurse will return to Toronto as they’ll face the Raptors on Oct. 28 before their home opener on Sunday, Oct. 28 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Other interesting games include Kevin Durant and the Suns coming to Philadelphia on Nov. 4, two home matchups with Boston in Nov on the 8th and 15h, LeBron and the Lakers will be here on Nov 27.

The team will be playing a prime-time Christmas Night matchup against Jimmy Butler and the Heat, the World Champion Denver Nuggets are in Philly on Jan 16, and Victor Wembanyama makes his Philadelphia debut with the Spurs on Jan. 22.

Something new on this year's slate, is the inaugural In-Season Tournament which will tip off on Friday, Nov. 3.

The team didn't really make any significant moves this offseason with Mo Bamba and Patrick Beverley the team's two biggest offseason additions.  They will again rely on incremental improvement from the current roster, with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Tobias Harris for another run at a title. Also in is new head coach Nick Nurse after Doc Rivers was let go following the Sixers’ seven-game loss to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals last season.
