Memorial Day Weekend Events In The Wildwoods Kickoff Summer 2024
For locals and visitors to the Jersey Shore, Memorial Day Weekend is the start of the Summer season. A big part of the Summer Season in South Jersey is the plethora of events and activities to experience at each of the Shore Towns.
One of the unique South Jersey Coastal Communities is The Wildwoods, a combination of four towns:
-North Wildwood features a plethora of restaurants and the Wildwood Boardwalk starts here.
-The City of Wildwood is at the heart of The Wildwood featuring Morey's Piers and Wildwood Convention Center.
-Wildwood Crest is the southern community featuring several resort hotel properties and is connected to Diamond Beach.
-West Wildwood is a small island where you can escape the busy environment of The Wildwoods.
Rated one of the best Family Vacation Towns in South Jersey, The Wildwoods will have plenty of activities for locals and visitors to enjoy Memorial Day Weekend.
The 2024 Memorial Day Weekend Events in The Wildwoods
*Beginning Friday, May 24th, and continuing through Monday, May 27th is the Wildwoods International Kite Festival.
-Friday at noon will kick off the weekend with the Unlocking of the Ocean event adjacent to the Wildwoods Convention Center and there will be a Kite Sales Tent. In the evening will be the local kite club's Friday Night Social followed by the Illuminated Night Kite Fly at 9 pm.
-Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm will feature large inflatable kites taking flite along with team kite flying, and family games on the beach at Rio Grande Avenue.
-On Monday, May 27th the Wildwoods Convention Center will welcome the World Indoor Kite Exhibition. This showcase is Free to Spectators
*Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market on Saturday, May 25th
-Starting Memorial Day Weekend, over 85 Vendors will be in Downtown Wildwood every Saturday for the Farmers Market. The vendors will be selling their goods from 8 am to 1230 pm every Saturday all summer long.
-The vendors will be set up on both sides of Pacific Avenue at Byrne Plaza off Oak Avenue along with the original Farmers Market Lot at Schellenger Avenue.
*Memorial Day Weekend Boardwalk Craft Show Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th
-On the Wildwood Boardwalk at Rio Grande Avenue, the Boardwalk Craft Show will feature a plethora of vendors selling a variety of items. This rain or shine event is Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm.
*South Jersey Estate Liquidators Antique and Collectibles Auction
-On Saturday, May 25th the Wildwood Convention Center will host the auction of numerous collectibles and antiques. This event is free to attend and open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm.
*Patrick Corcoran 5K Memorial Day Run
-North Wildwood hosts this annual event benefiting veterans and their families. Registration starts at 730 am on Sunday, May 26th and the race begins at 830 am. The 5K run will begin and end at Keenan’s on Olde New Jersey Avenue and there will be prizes for the winners of different age categories.
*Wildwood Food Truck & Music FEASTival
-Starting at 12 pm on Sunday, May 26th there are 15 Food Trucks scheduled to be on-site at Byrne Plaza along with a DJ playing music all day. There will be activities for kids to enjoy including face painting, bungee trampoline, mini golf, sand art, inflatable hatchet throwing, and more. Attendees are invited to bring their own chairs and blankets to hang out for the day.
*Wildwood Crest Summer Kick-Off Concert
-This Free Concert will be at Centennial Park (Fern Road and Ocean Avenue) on Sunday, May 26th. Starting at 7 pm, the musical group "Big House" will be performing dance and party music along with alternative hit songs. Bring your own chairs or blankets to set up in front of the stage for this event.
*Memorial Day Ceremonies on Monday, May 27th
-The VFW Post 5941 will host the North Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse on North Central Avenue. The ceremony starts at 10 am.
-American Legion Post 184 will host the City of Wildwood's Memorial Day Ceremony. Located at the corner of Roberts Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, the ceremony will begin at 11 am.
