The Army-Navy game each year on Saturday marks the end of the College Football regular season.  But it’s much more than that: The Army-Navy game is one of the oldest sports rivalries in the country.  This game was first played between The Black Knights of the Hudson and the Midshipman of the Naval Academy on November 29, 1890.  One of the most enduring traditions in college football meets for the 122nd time in North Jersey at Metlife Stadium this weekend.  While this game is frequently played in Philadelphia a total of 89 times and this weekend will be the fifth time played in North Jersey with Navy leading the series 61-53-7 all time.  The Pageantry and Patriotism that accompanies the event is second to none.  However it’s much more than just a game, it's deeper; Yes on this day the two schools go head to head and try to beat each other on the field but after the game, it's a brotherhood that lasts a lifetime.  After they graduate they will be playing on the same team, where the stakes are much higher than football.

The Eagles are on their Bye Week and need this time to get healthy.  The Flyers fired their head coach earlier in the week and are losers of their last 10 games.  How bad will it get moving forward for the Orange and Black?  Plus, the Sixers are 14-11 this season, can they get it together and become contenders in the Eastern Conference again?  All these topics and more will be discussed in The Locker Room this weekend.

On Saturday’s show former Eagle Linebacker Brad Quast joins me in the studio. Brad and I will take a closer look at Saturday’s Army-Navy game. Then we will hear from Sportsbook Consigliere Dave Sharapan who checks in from Las Vegas with his six-pack of picks for this weekend's biggest games.  Then we will hear from Absegami High School Graduate and United States Naval Academy Football Player Mike Heron.  Mike played in this historic contest and we will hear his fantastic story of making the team.  Then we will play my interview with former West Point Halfback and Heisman Trophy winner from Army General Pete Dawkins.  Plus we talk about the Eagles, Sixers and Flyers as well.

On Sunday’s show Pete Thompson joins me along with Brad Quast in the studio. The Eagles have a Bye Week but we will still hear from 973ESPN.com Eagles Writer and Fox 29 News Sports Anchor Scott Grayson.  The Fantasy Football Guru Brian Hartley checks in with his picks for NFL Week 14 in the NFL.

All That and more in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to Noon on 97.3 ESPN Radio!
