Atlantic City Boardwalk Named Among Nation’s Best
As the summer of 2025 came to a close, boardwalks all over South Jersey saw a ton of visitors shopping and eating, while enjoying their time down the shore.
As the local summer enters, let's not forget that we can still utilize these boardwalks for fun, food, entertainment, and shopping before the cooler winter months rear their ugly heads.
There is one particular local boardwalk that has just been named among the 10 best in the county by a well-known travel website Fodor, which has been around since 1936.
Atlantic City Boardwalk Earns National Recognition
So which South Jersey boardwalk made the cut? Atlantic City, which made the list at No. 7 overall.
“While the glory days may have faded, Atlantic City still knows how to put on a show. All summer long, its 5-mile boardwalk thrums with casinos, concerts, dining, mini-golf, tram rides, and that timeless stretch of beachside fun. Come Labor Day weekend, visitors pour in for one last taste of summer along its storied shores."
While Atlantic City has the nation's first boardwalk, it might not be the first boardwalk that comes to mind locally, with Ocean City and Wildwood known for their rides, water slides, and a variety of food options; it does have plenty of fun things to do.
Entertainment and Dining on the AC Boards
As you walk along the 5.5 miles of AC boards, you get a look at all the majestic casinos. There are retail shops, rides, mini-golf, bars, restaurants, plenty of food options, and the classic Rolling Chairs if you want to do some people watching while seeing all the sights.
Other Famous Boardwalks That Made the Top 10
The Atlantic City boardwalk was the only boardwalk in New Jersey to appear on the list, which was topped by Santa Cruz’s vintage beach boardwalk, Ocean City, Maryland, Virginia Beach, the Navy Pier in Chicago, Brooklyn’s Coney Island, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Long Beach on Washington’s Evergreen Coast, Seaside, Oregon, and finally Old Orchard Beach in Maine.
