A parade to honor the 13-year old Babe Ruth World Series champion, Atlantic Shore is set for tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) from 2:3o p.m. to 3 p.m.

The parade route starts at Birch Grove Park in Northfield and travels south down Mill Road through the communities of Northfield, Linwood and Somers Point finishing at DiOrio's in Somers Point, where there will be a championship party.

Following the parade, a World Series celebration will be held at DiOrios for friends and family of the team.

If you are able to support the boys, pop up to a spot on the parade route and make a sign and see the team as they are lead by various local fire departments on a flat bed truck donated by Providence Towing & Recovery in Atlantic City. 

If you plan on attending the parade, stay on the sidewalks and please refrain from bringing or throwing any confetti, streamers, or anything else.

The entire team and coaching staff are expected to attend the championship banner and trophy will also be on display.

The team went a combined 13-2 over the course of the summer, winning the state tournament in Hamilton,  NJ, the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament in Altoona,  PA, going a combined 8-0.

At the World Series, the team went 2-2 in pool play, before defeating Kai, Hawaii in the quarterfinals, Tallahassee, FL in the semifinals and Norwalk, CT in the championship game, which was played in Jamestown,  NY.

The players represent the towns of Brigantine, Ventnor, Linwood, Northfield, Somers Point, Ocean City and Upper Twp.
