Ricky Council IV and Adem Bona dazzled for the Sixers in their first game of Salt Lake City Summer League, earning Philadelphia a 102-92 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Martin is reportedly expected to start at power forward in Philadelphia, alleviating some of the defensive burden on the incoming Paul George.

Philadelphia might've lost a fan favorite as Sunday's free-agent frenzy began, but out with one and in with another.

The Sixers have landed free-agent wing Paul George, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The deal will pay the 34-year-old star the maximum $212 million over four years to walk away from the Los Angeles Clippers' perpetual offer of roughly $150 million over three years.

Philadelphia is expected to aggressively pursue George in free agency and is a real threat to sign him away from the Clippers, according to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report and TNT.

The Nigerian-Turkish big man hoped that Philadelphia would be the one to call because Bona wants to play for a team that he feels can compete for a championship immediately.

Bona, selected with the 41st overall pick, played two seasons of college basketball under Mick Cronin. He averaged 12 points, nearly six rebounds, and almost two blocks in 33 games as a sophomore in 2023-24.

McCain is heading to Philadelphia because the Sixers believe he walks the line between upside and win-now skills.

If the Sixers are lucky enough to have the opportunity to decide which one they get, it's a decision worth losing sleep over.

Sure, you may be able to strike on a few valuable free agents and address some of the shortcomings of an Embiid-Mitchell-Maxey foundation this summer. But, given the long-term financial constraints, the Sixers would find themselves back in a position where they have more holes than plugs to fill them in just a few years.
