Sports Talk with Brodes: Fundamentals & the Bullpen Crush the Phillies in 10-9 Loss
The Philadelphia Phillies lose to the Baltimore Orioles 10-9 in extra innings. This team is truly embarrassing. The bullpen explodes again, Jean Segura called off Rhys Hoskins for a routine pop up which dropped, and Roman Quinn dove for a ball in the outfield which he wasn't even close to!!
It's a shame because Jay Bruce came up big with a home run early, Bryce Harper hit a clutch two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game, and Jean Segura hit the go-ahead solo shot afterwards. It was all ruined by the lack of fundamentals late in the game.

Sports Talk with Brodes: Sixers Fall to Portland, Embiid Leaves Injured
The Philadelphia Sixers lose to the Portland Trail Blazers as Damian Lillard drops 51 points. Joel Embiid left six minutes into the game with an ankle injury and did not return. Josh Richardson scored 34 points and actually performed well for the first time in a long time. The team fought hard and did everything they could without the big man and Ben Simmons, who left the NBA bubble to get surgery on his knee.
Sports Talk with Brodes: Phillies Lose BOTH in Double Header, Howard MLB Debut
The Philadelphia Phillies lose 5-2 and 8-0 in their double header against the Atlanta Braves. Vince Velasquez had no command in game one and Spencer Howard made his MLB debut in game two. He got hit hard, there is no denying that. Especially when it came to his first pitch of an at bat. He allowed four earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. The bullpen was abysmal in both outings, but without any offense... who cares?
Sports Talk with Brodes: Flyers Storm Past the Lightning for 1st Seed!
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning by a score of 4-1 to clinch the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. They will now match up with the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the playoffs.
Nicolas Aube-Kubel scored 2 goals to give the Flyers a lead. Shayne Gostisbehere found his way into the lineup and played excellent. After the Lightning made it 2-1, Joel Farabee lit the lamp to put the Flyers up two again. Tyler Pitlick finished the game off with an empty-net goal.
The Lightning controlled the entire third period, but the Flyers blocked so many shots, Carter Hart was insane, and they found a way to hold off Tampa's powerful offense.
Sports Talk with Brodes: Phillies Shutout the Braves 5-0!
The Philadelphia Phillies shutout the Atlanta Braves by a score of 5-0. Jake Arrieta pitched a fantastic game, throwing six innings and looking like the 2015 version of himself.
JT Realmuto stays hot at the plate, hitting a solo home run to start the scoring in the fourth inning. Jay Bruce followed with a three-run shot of his own. In the eighth inning, Bryce Harper was knocked in by Didi Gregorius to add insurance.
The bullpen was able to secure the victory. José Álvarez, Tommy Hunter, and Deolis Guerra finished the job.

Sports Talk with Brodes: Hayes, Laughton, & Konecny Lead Flyers Past the Capitals!
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Washington Capitals in round robin play by a score of 3-1. They will now play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday for the first-seed in the playoffs.
Kevin Hayes recorded three assists.
Scott Laughton scored two goals and one assist.
Travis Konecny had two assists.
This line was sensational!
Brian Elliott was in the pipes and he did everything you could ask for. The penalty kill went 4-4, but the powerplay went 0-6. The Flyers are going to need to generate on the powerplay if they want to succeed in the postseason.
Alain Vigneault took James van Riemsdyk out of the lineup to wake him up. Joel Farabee slid into the Michael Raffl's spot since his injury. Farabee and Aube-Kubel had noticeable chemistry all game long.
