Bally’s Atlantic City wants you to know they are under new management and they plan to make some waves this summer in South Jersey.

Bally's, which was sold in 2020 to a company that has since changed its name to Bally's (really), has guaranteed it will spend $100+ million over the next five years on new hotel rooms, hotel lobby, and The Yard, a beer garden-style venue that will offer live entertainment, The Yard is also set to debut this summer.

The first of the new amenities is set to debut over Memorial Day Weekend: Carousel Bar, which revolves 360-degrees as guests watch their sightlines slowly change.

Bally's is calling the one-of-a-kind bar a “must-see attraction” and “the quintessential meetup place” at soon-to-be new look Bally's.

But let's get back to the revolving bar. How does it work exactly and how fast is it turning?

The floor rotates at 2.5-5 revolutions per hour, which is slow-moving enough that a guest can simply walk onto it, and will it make a full revolution approximately every 15 to 20 minutes, offering “an attraction to the city that doesn’t exist in the market today.”

The Carousel Bar was conceived to add excitement to Atlantic City with “a nostalgic, modern twist.” The attraction offers “a subtle nod” to the timeless amusement found along the city’s boardwalk, the company describes.

“Carousel Bar captures the essence of iconic experiences through its central feature, an elevated 24-seat rotating bar reminiscent of a carousel,” a press release explains. “With 360-degree views of the casino and adjacent areas, it is the first venue of its kind in Atlantic City.”

Bar guests can enjoy modern, craft cocktails at Carousel Bar, inspired by Atlantic City flavors, including Saltwater Taffy, Cotton Candy, caramel popcorn, and more. Too many saltwater taffy cocktails might also make the room spin, so be careful.

Carousel Bar will be located adjacent to the casino floor and new hotel lobby.

Around the revolving bar will be a lounge area that will seat between 55 and 70 people, who will act like spectators to the action in front of them, according to Bally's insiders.
