Brooks Rewarded With Monster Extension

PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - Brandon Brooks' hard work during a successful rehab from Achilles surgery paid off in a big way as the Eagles extended the star right guard through the 2024 season, giving Brooks $30 million to put pen to paper.

Arguably the best offensive lineman in the entire NFL through the midway point of the season Brooks is having his career year despite nary an offseason due to the Achilles' tear he suffered in the divisional round of the playoffs last season against New Orleans.

At 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, Brooks, 30, not only was ready in less than nine months he has dominated on a weekly basis, providing Doug Pederson the most powerful right side in football along with good friend and locker room neighbor Lane Johnson, the Eagles' All-Pro right tackle.

Overall Brooks' deal could be worth as much as $54.2 million and it makes him the highest-paid offensive guard in the NFL.

Brooks original came to Philadelphia as a free agent from Houston in 2016 and has proven to be one of the best free-agency decisions in franchise history.

"Since the day he walked into the building, he's been a consummate Eagle," GM Howie Roseman told the team's official website. "You just see that with everything he does on and off the field. Certainly, you're talking about a player who is the best at his position in the National Football League, a guy who gets hurt in the Divisional Round playoff game and who works his butt off to get back for this season's opener.

"He means so much to our football team and our organization and I'm extremely proud to have him with us going forward."
