This Cape May Restaurant Named Most Adorable In New Jersey

For many Americans who live or work in big city environments, their go-to escape is visiting a Small Town for holidays and Summer Vacations. These quaint and slower-paced communities are beloved by visitors from any distance.

On the list of Best Small Towns in America, New Jersey's southernmost community Cape May is ranked inside the Top 20.  The oldest vacation resort town in the United States, the Cape Island has been a destination for Americans escaping city life for centuries.

So it should be no surprise on the latest ranking of The Most Adorable Small-Town Restaurants in America an eating establishment in Cape May was chosen. But it is eye-opening which Cape May Restaurant was selected and where it was ranked on the list.

Which Cape May Restaurant Made List Of Most Adorable In America?

The team at lovefood.com selected one restaurant from each of the 50 states and ranked them based on the following criteria: Genuine user reviews, Awards and accolades, First-hand experiences of the lovefood.com team

The result of their formula was the selection of The Lobster House as the most adorable small-town restaurant in New Jersey. Here is their explanation:

"The same family has been welcoming diners to the Lobster House in Cape May for three generations. Overlooking the New Jersey shore, the dockside diner has its own fleet of fishing boats and serves fresh catches throughout the year. It’s worth a trip for the freshly shucked oysters and crab cakes alone."

However, in spite of the very positive review, the lovefood.com team ranked The Lobster House 50th out of the fifty restaurants on the list.

The Clean Slate Wine Bar in Solvang, California was ranked number one on their list.

Now let us consider there are around 60 eateries open during the Summer Months in the Cape May Community. There is no explanation for why these food reviewers chose The Lobster House over all the eating establishments in Cape May or all the hundreds of restaurants in New Jersey.

I have not visited every one of the 50 United States but based on my own experiences and what others have told me, this appears to be a backhanded compliment by the lovefood.com research team. There seems to be a bias against New Jersey in these rankings.

Maybe they chose a Cape May Restaurant because they have never visited any New Jersey Small Towns and Coastal Communities.

When Academy Award Nominated Actor Edward Norton and Oscar Nominated Actress Emily Blunt were in Cape May over the last 12 months, both of them visited different locally owned businesses in South Jersey.
