While New Jersey has two hundred years of history as a vacation destination area of the United States, other areas of the country have become more famous in recent decades.

Thanks to the growth of the railroad system in the late 1800's, the Hamptons became a vacation destination after wealthy families like the Vanderbilts began building estates for visitors to spend their summers on Long Island.

Cape Cod rose to fame thanks to the publication of Henry David Thoreau's book, and the new railroads that brought visitors out to the southeastern Massachusetts Peninsula in the 1870s. This area has become so popular that the Mid-Cape Highway was built to help deliver tourists to the area in the 1950s.

Celebrity Tells Barstool Sports That Jersey Shore and this South Jersey business is better than both the Hamptons and Cape Cod

Best known for being part of Miley Cyrus' world tours, along with working with Dierks Bentley, and being the personal DJ for All-Time Great NFL Tight End Rob Gronkowki's events, Dante Deiana is one of the most famous music programmers in the United States.

Aside from being the Chicago Cubs' Sound and Music Engineer at Wrigley Field, Deiana has also carved out a role as part of Barstool Sports' cast of characters. "Dante the Don" has performed at over 160 shows for Barstool Sports after being recruited by Dave Portnoy.

On the "You Gotta Try This" Podcast, Dante Deiana was asked about the best vacation destinations, and he picked the Jersey Shore over both The Hamptons and Cape Cod:

"The Hamptons to me, no offense, one of the worst places in the world....Jersey Shore (over Cape Cod), not even close."

Unprompted, Deiana went on to highlight one of his favorite seafood places in New Jersey, and he went down the Garden State Parkway to Exit 17:

"Mike's Seafood in Sea Isle (City), it is one of the best dockside seafood places I've ever been. Legendary spot, families (have been) going there for generations, (started) as a Fish Market, turned into a restaurant on the dock. That is one of the best spots I have ever been."

High praise from someone who has traveled all around the United States and around the world for one of the most beloved establishments in South Jersey. We already know that Mike's Seafood is a favorite of Philadelphia Eagles' Legend Jason Kelce.

Dante Deiana also talked with the "You Gotta Try This" Podcast about how much he loves the New Jersey Shore beaches:

"I think (New) Jersey has some of the best sandy beaches in the country. I don't get why it gets overlooked like it does. I've been to the north beaches, the south beaches, and the one's in the middle, they are all pristine, the (Jersey Shore Towns) take such good care of them. - The water is beautiful, it's always warm, I love it."

Big endorsement for the Jersey Shore from "Dante the Don" at Barstool Sports. Aside from the incredible food available at Mike's Seafood, and the popular beaches, here are some other reasons I love New Jersey's southernmost county:

10 Favorite Things about Cape May County, NJ

The history of Cape May County predates the formation of the United States of America by about 100 years as it was one of the first counties established in what was originally known as the West New Jersey Provence. Cape May County's historical records go back as far as 1685 and the County was originally established in 1692. Cape May County has been a huge part of my life and that of my family's for decades, so I wanted to share with you my favorite aspects of the southern most County in the state of New Jersey.
