Popular South Jersey Eatery Moving Into Former St. George’s Pub in Brigantine
Plenty of Brigantine residents have dined or had a drink over the years at St. George's Pub, at 4282 Harbor Beach Blvd. in the Brigantine Town Center.
The Pub closed back in 2024 and has remained vacant, but it appears that is about to change.
Rumors began to swirl about a new restaurant moving into the St. George location, and two sources confirm to me that is true.
From St. George’s Pub to "Chegg": A Major Upgrade for Brigantine
Brigantine, get ready for The Chicken or the Egg, known by many as "Chegg".
Chegg is owned by the same people who bring you LaScala's Beach House in Brigantine and LaScala's Fire in Ocean Casino, along with various other LaScala's in the area, including a new one coming to Mays Landing and one that just opened, LaScala's Pronto on Wheat Road in Buena.
What to Expect from the New Chicken or the Egg Location
Chicken or the Egg has multiple South Jersey locations, with one in Marlton, which opened in 2023, and the original in Beach Haven at 207 North Bay Avenue, which opened in 1991. Chegg is known for its all-day breakfast, various wing sauces, big portion sizes, and great drinks (at the Marlton location).
I've been told the liquor license from St. George’s was a part of the deal.
Will It Be Open 24 Hours?
The Beach Haven location stays open 24 hours during the summer season, which at one time, St. George’s Pub did. It is not known at this time if Chegg will stay open in Brigantine for 24 hours. The Marlton location opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m on Friday and Saturday.
Once we get more information on a potential opening date and hours, we'll post it here!
