Could Kevin Durant be in play for the Sixers?

While the team has brought back James Harden and added some role players like P.J. Tucker, De'Anthony Melton and Danuel House, they could still make a run at the disgruntled Nets forward.

According to Nets and NBA Reporter Ian Begley of SNY the Sixers brass might have interest in making a move to get Durant to Philadelphia, or at least having conversations about making a move to get him here.

there were high-ranking members of the Sixers who’ve felt strongly about engaging with Brooklyn on a Durant trade.

While that was then and this is now, Durant reiterated his desire to be traded this week, which could have teams calling the Nets again. Durant has stated he would return to the Nets, but only if the team parted ways with head coach Steve Nash and General Manager Sean Marks were removed from their roles.

Nets owner Joe Tsai threw his support behind the head coach and general manager on Monday in a tweet, suggesting that a stare-down could be coming this fall at Nets training camp.

So what would the Sixers need to do offer to make a deal work?

The Sixers would almost certainly have to include Tyrese Maxey in a trade for Durant. Given the dynamics at play, you’d think that Tobias HarrisMatisse Thybulle and other players/draft picks would be included.

Begley suggests that any deal for Durant with the Sixers would have to include Tyrese Maxey and adds that Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle would have to be part of the deal along with other players and draft picks.

Maxey is one of the top young guards in the league. Harris, a New York native, is seen around the league as a high-character player and leader. He has a history with Ben Simmons in Philadelphia and is the type of veteran who could help the Nets team win games after a Durant trade.

He also adds that it is not known if the two teams have had any recent discussions or any recent progress on a trade for Durant.

Definitely something to keep an eye on.
