Darby Set to Return

PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) — As expected Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby is on track to return for Sunday night's game in Dallas.

The speedy Darby, who dislocated his ankle during the season opener in Washington, told reporters that he was a full go in practice Monday and took some reps with the first-team defense, a first since he returned to practice in a limited fashion over the past three weeks.

Philadelphia has had the luxury to go slow with working Darby back into the lineup because Jalen Mills, Patrick Robinson, and Rasul Douglas have all played well at times over the past eight-plus games as the Eagles have raced out to an NFL-best 8-1.

Darby remains unsure how Jim Schwartz will use him against the Cowboys. Before the injury, he was the team's CB1 opposite Mills with Robinson working in as the slot corner in the nickel defense.

"However [the coaches are] going to play it out, we'll be ready," Darby said.

Darby is not wearing a brace and believes he's ready for a full load if need be.

"It feels really good, to be honest," Darby said. "The percentage is real high. I wouldn't be out there if it was bothering me, so it feels real good."

Darby's pending return also contributed to the team's comfort in releasing cornerback Dexter McDougle, who was waived in order to make room for veteran linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.
