Fans who attended Darius Rucker’s Atlantic City concert are being issued full refunds after an abrupt end to the show.

A Sudden Ending in Atlantic City

The frontman for Hootie and the Blowfish took his solo act to Atlantic City, performing live at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, but was forced to cut his July 12 concert short after losing his voice just three songs into the set.

People in attendance say Rucker's voice began to crack, which resulted in him ending the show, which was just the third stop on his 45-date tour.

The singer confirmed that full refunds will be issued to fans who attended the show in Atlantic City, saying in a social media post that he had “never lost his voice in all my years of performing”, felt awful, and was so sorry for the performance.

No Reschedule, But Full Refunds

With no dates available for him to reschedule, Rucker said they were issuing a full refund to those in attendance.

Rucker’s Apology to Fans

Rucker addressed the situation on social media:

“Atlantic City. Thank you so much for coming out Saturday night. I feel awful, and I'm so sorry. I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing. We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it's just not possible this year so we're issuing full refund."

The Crowd Finishes “Wagon Wheel”

Rucker finished the show by signing “Wagon Wheel” with help from the Hard Rock crowd.
