Darren Daulton Foundation Hosting ‘Flip Flops and Fastballs’ Event at Joe Pop’s
A big event is coming to the Jersey Shore on Sunday, August 2, from 1 p.m to 4 p.m., at Joe Pop’s Shore Bar and Restaurant, a Long Beach Island institution in Ship Bottom.
Former Phillies & Special Guests Attending
The Darren Daulton Foundation will be having a Flip Flops and Fastball event that will feature plenty of former Phillies, including current broadcaster John Kruk, a teammate of Daulton, 2008 World Series manager Charlie Manuel, former Phillies pitchers Dickie Noles and Robert Person, former Phillies shortstop Steve Jeltz, and former NFL punter Sean Landeta.
About the Darren Daulton Foundation
The foundation was created after the passing of the former Phillies catcher, who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in 2013, to support individuals and families battling brain cancer.
Daulton passed after a long battle on August 6, 2017, but the foundation has lived on, helping raise over $500,000 with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Darren Daulton Foundation.
Daulton was the leader of the Phillies team in the early 1990s, including the National League Champion 1993 team that lost to the Blue Jays in the World Series. Daulton was a three-time National League All-Star, led the National League in RBI in 1992, and won a World Series with the Florida Marlins in 1997.
