Since an additional procedure on his right hand to repair his middle finger there has been a lot of speculation around the future of Jason Pierre-Paul.

Sources confirmed to Dan Graziano that the Giant is also missing part of his thumb and the team does not have any plans to see him for another five to six weeks. If Pierre-Paul is not in good condition by then, the team will consider rescinding a $14.81 million franchise tender.

According to Graziano's sources, the thumb injury is not expected to be a hindrance when and if he was to play.

The only optimism, you would expect, is coming from the camp of Pierre-Paul. People close to the player believe he will eventually get back to full strength and be an impact player at his position. How forthcoming and honest his camp has been throughout this process is up for debate.

As ESPN reported last weekend, some in the Giants organization believe the hand injury is worse than expected and worse than they were led to believe.

Pierre-Paul took to Instagram today to give his thoughts on the matter, notice he's not wearing a protective glove:
