White signed a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million back in March after spending his first five seasons in Tampa Bay. Per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquire, Dean beat White out in training camp, making White's role unclear moving forward.

That means the defense will go with Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean at the linebacker spot with rookie Jeremiah Trotter Jr. likely to see time.

White had his best season in 2020, helping the Buccaneers capture s Super Bowl, making 140 total tackles and adding nine sacks. However since then, his tackle numbers and overall play against the run has declined.

By many accounts it was Dean that was the superior player in training camp, so it will be interesting to see what happens with White once he is ready to return to the field.

"His fundamentals, his tackling, his block destruction, and his effort on his plays is really where you're able to see his talent, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said about Dean during the preseason.

Baun was a 2020 third-rounder and has been mainly a situational pass rusher during his time in New Orleans, but it will be interesting to see what Fangio has in store for him this season.

"He still has this versatility," Fangio said about Baun during training camp. "Learning our team as we go through the rest of camp, we'll be able to use him in different ways because of his versatility."
