The 2025 NFL draft started Thursday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the Philadelphia Eagles held the last pick in the first round.  The Super Bowl 59 Champions moved up one spot by exchanging picks with the Kansas City Chiefs and former Eagles Head Coach Andy Reid.

The Birds selected Linebacker Jihaad Campbell, a South Jersey product who played his college ball at Alabama.  97.3 ESPN’s Josh Hennig had Campbell high on his draft board.  The Timber Creek High School Athlete has experience as an on and off ball Linebacker as well as a pass rusher who played through a Shoulder Injury Last season.

In the short term, the Phillies have benefited from the NFL draft and the Eagles big moves in the NFL Draft.

The Phillies were swept out of New York as the Mets continued to dominate the Phillies. The Phillies are now 13-12 this season and five games out of first place in the National League East.

The Mets dominance dates back to last year, having won the last nine of their last ten games played, including the playoffs.  The Mets have the Phillies number right now and in their last three games against the Mets, the Phillies scored eight runs and hit just one home run.

It’s only April but it's very frustrating watching this Phillies team with the 4th highest payroll in baseball struggle.  This weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim we will discuss the Phillies issues, the Eagles, and the NFL Draft!

On Saturday’s show, former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dave Klemic and Producer Danny Ryan join me in the studio.  We will break down the NFL draft and analyze the first three rounds for the Eagles.  The Phillies are in Chicago for a three game series against the Cubs and we will hear from Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda with his pithy comments on the Birds and Phillies brought to you by the Galloway Pool Service.

On Sunday’s show, my Locker Room youth movement will feature Producer Danny Ryan and "The intern” Andrew Leeds in the studio. We will recap the Phillies weekend and go “On the Mound” with former Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz’s Market in Ocean City.  Tommy analyzes the Phillies week and previews Sunday’s game.  In Hour Two we get our “High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory of EHT.

All that and more in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, heard every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN Radio South Jersey.
