PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - The Eagles brought back nine players to their practice squad Sunday and added developmental quarterback Nate Sudfeld, a 2016 sixth-round pick of the Washington Redskins.

Brought back after originally being released in the cutdown to 53 were running back Byron Marshall, receivers Bryce Treggs and Greg Ward, tight end Billy Brown, offensive lineman Josh Andrews and Dillon Gordon, defensive tackle Justin Hamilton, linebacker Nate Gerry and cornerback C.J. Smith.

Sudfeld, a rangy 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect out of Indiana, will be the team's third quarterback behind Carson Wentz and Nick Foles.

A year after claiming three players off waivers the Eagles were quiet on that front but practice-squad candidate Aaron Neary was claimed off waivers from the Eagles by the Los Angeles Rams.
