The Eagles filled a roster spot Friday by signing tight end Richard Rodgers, the team announced.

Rodgers has spent the past four seasons with the Eagles, serving as a backup to Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert.

Last season with Ertz and Goedert both missing time due to injury, Rodgers stepped in with 24 catches for 345 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games. Overall the 29-year-old veteran has 145 catches for 1,518 yards and 15 scores including eight touchdown in 2015 with Green Bay.

A reunion with the team seemed like a possibility with all the rumors of Ertz being traded and the lack of depth the team has in the event that he is moved.

The team also announced the signing of wide receiver Michael Walker  who last played in Jacksonville during the 2019 season, catching two passes in seven games. He has been a slot guy, return specialist since entering the league our of Boston College.
