Eagles’ Dallas Goedert Ranked Just Outside Top-5 on PFF’s Rankings
The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new offensive coordinator in 2024, and we will see how Kellen Moore plans on incorporating tight-end Dallas Goedert into an offense filled with big names.
He finished a distant third on the team in receptions with 59 last season behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Goedert, 29, had just 592 yards and three touchdowns during the 2024 campaign but could be in for a bigger role this season with Moore calling the plays. Last season in Los Angeles, Chargers tight ends caught 90 balls for 854 yards and eight touchdowns.
Pro Football Focus ranked the tight end position ahead of the 2024 season and had Goedert just outside the Top 5 at No. 6 overall.
Very little went well for the Eagles in 2023. They were let down by injuries, an aging defense and struggles at coordinator, as Jalen Hurts and the offense looked broken throughout the season. Goedert was not immune to the struggles, as he himself battled injuries and missed three games.
Still, the six-year pro has earned an 86.1 overall grade over the past three years, fourth among all players at the position.
Goedert's best season came in 2021, catching 56 passes for 830 yards and four touchdowns, and hopefully, Moore can help get back to that type of production.
Injuries have been an issue for Goedert, but if healthy, he could be in line for his first 1,000-yard season in Moore's tight-end-friendly offense.
The Top 5 tight ends were George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, T.J. Hockenson, and Sam LaPorta with Goedert coming in next at No. 6.
