For the second straight offseason, Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon was a hot name on the head coaching market, but it appears he will remain in Philadelphia.

Gannon was in the running for the head coaching positions in Houston but it appears the Texans will go in a different direction, meaning Gannon will be back with the Eagles.

The Eagles defensive coordinator told FOX 29 after the game "Philly's keeping me. Good back or indifferent, I'm staying here." Gannon said.

This comes on the same day that NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos and Cardinals had interest in Gannon for their head coaching vacancy. Regardless of Gannon's future, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni knows he has one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL.

"So, every time I hear an answer about Jonathan Gannon I laugh to myself. As a matter of fact, coaches from other teams ask me, does Jonathan Gannon get crap here? I'm like, somehow, yeah. Like this guy is incredible," Sirianni said after the teams win over the New York Giants in the divisional round.

"He's going to be a head football coach in the National Football League because of what he does. This guy is a stud. He's a stud."

In his first year in Philadelphia, Gannon resurrected the Eagles defensive and this season it has become one of the top defenses in the NFL, leading the league in sacks.
