In part thanks to former Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson and current Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman, Philadephia won Super Bowl 52 and the organization was no longer part of the group of infamous NFL teams that have never won a Super Bowl.

Over at The Athletic, they ranked all 32 NFL teams based on their postseason success since the first Super Bowl in 1967 through this past football season. According to their scoring system, Winning a Super Bowl is worth 11 points, losing a Super Bowl is worth 5 points, reaching a Conference Championship Game is worth 3 points, and making the playoffs is worth one point. According to this measurement, The Athletic ranks the Philadelphia Eagles as the 15th best Franchise in the league and they are in the third tier of teams in the NFL with 50 total points:

"The Eagles were the big movers on 2018’s list, thanks to their first Super Bowl championship, jumping 11 points to leave the ranks of the “never won it” forever. It is somewhat surprising they did not secure a Super Bowl during their run from 2000 to 2010, with Reid always having Philadelphia in the mix and going to NFC Championship games five times in eight years. Like the Vikings, the big zero on their ledger was a constant source of misery. Unlike the Vikings, they never have to hear about it again. Since winning it all in 2017, the Eagles have made three more playoffs as fringe teams, but they could go either direction in the next few years — but with three first-rounders this April, they probably know which they prefer."

According to this ranking system, The Athletic lists the Eagles ahead of the Buffalo Bills (40 Points) and Seattle Seahawks (39 Points) but behind the Kansas City Chiefs (57 Points) and Minnesota Vikings (58 Points).

The biggest demerit against Philadelphia is that from 1967 to 1975 they had zero winning seasons and a cumulative 39-81-6 record. During that nine-year period, the Chiefs and Vikings both had Super Bowl appearances while the Eagles first winning season under Dick Vermeil was 1978.  Before the Andy Reid era in Philadelphia, the Eagles had 10 Playoff Appearances over the course of the previous 21 seasons.
The combination of Andy Reid and Doug Pederson success in the last 22 years has transformed the Philadelphia Eagles organization from an average NFL Franchise to a team that is expected to be contenders under owner Jeff Lurie. Before Lurie purchased the Eagles organization, the team had limited success on the field thanks to zero playoff wins for Buddy Ryan in three postseason appearances while Dick Vermeil had three playoff wins in four consecutive postseason years.

Before the modern era of professional football featuring the Super Bowl as the league's Championship game, the Philadelphia Eagles won three NFL Championships between 1948 and 1960.  The Eagles franchise had a great run of success from 1944 to 1961 they had 12 winning seasons.  But none of that is included in these franchise rankings over at the Athletic.
