Former Los Angles Chargers offensive coordinator Shane Steichen will be joining Nick Sirianni's staff for the Philadelphia Eagles for their opening at the same position, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Steichen, 35, held the OC position in the Chargers in 2020 after serving as the interim coordinator in 2019.  He joined the organization in 2011 as defensive assistant under former head coach Norv Turner. He left San Diego for Cleveland for one season and returned to San Diego as part of Mike McCoy's staff.

Under Steichen, Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert had an incredible rookie season with 4,336 yards, 31 passing touchdowns, completing 66% of his passes.

It is unclear if Steichen will call plays, or if Sirianni, who has never been a play-caller, will call plays.
