Eagles Injury Report Rules Out 2 Players, Welcomes Back Starters
Ahead of the big matchup on Sunday Night Football with the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles welcome back two important players on defense while questions still remain about the Safety Position.
On Friday, the Eagles ruled out two players on the defense for this Sunday's game: Safety Reed Blankenship will miss his second game this season with a Ribs Injury and Cornerback Bradley Roby will not play due to a Shoulder Issue. No Blankenship available means more pressure falls on Veteran Safety Terrell Edmunds against the number one scoring offense in the NFL. Rookie Safety Sydney Brown has been cleared to play this week after he has dealt with a Hamstring Injury.
With the return of Darius Slay, the Eagles will have one of the best Cornerback Duos in the NFL back on the field this Sunday Night. But without Bradley Roby, there are questions about who will play Nickel Corner. The Eagles brought Mario Goodrich back to the Practice Squad this week so he is a potential option along with Tristan McCollum who can play both Cornerback and Safety.
More good news this week for the Eagles is Right Tackle Lane Johnson and Defensive Tackle Jalen Carter practiced this week. Carter will be a key to the Eagles Pass Rush against a Dolphins Offense that is averaging 37.2 Points Per Game. Johnson's return means the Eagles' Offensive Line welcomes back their most important Pass Protector as Philadelphia could be involved in a high-scoring showdown with the Dolphins.
The Miami Dolphins have ruled out one played for Sunday Night's game and list four as Questionable to Play. There was only a small hope for Cornerback Jalen Ramsey to return this week for the Dolphins as he has not played so far this year after sustaining a Knee Injury in August. Keep an eye on the status of Cornerback Xavien Howard as he has been dealing with a Groin Injury and was a Limited Participant at Practice this week for the Dolphins.
The other players listed as Questionable for Miami includes Fullback Alec Ingold, who part of the Offensive Running Attack and Special Teams Contributor. Also on the list of Questionable Players for the Dolphins is Veteran Offensive Lineman Conor Williams who has played games at Center for Miami but also use to play Tackle and Guard for the Cowboys.
