Eagles Land Georgia Defensive Back Kamari Lassiter in ESPN Mock Draft
With the Eagles losing back-to-back games, fans have started to hit the panic button.
Some are even saying this years team isn't good enough to get back and play in the Super Bowl, which means, maybe its time to start looking at ways to improve the team through the draft.
ESPN.com has their latest mock draft posted with the Eagles in the No. 29 spot after a pair of losses.
Eagles Take Corner in latest ESPN Mock Draft
In the last two losses, it has become apparent that the secondary is starting to show signs of age, so ESPN Draft analyst Matt Miller has the Eagles taking a corner to try and help fix their secondary issues, going with another Georgia player, Kamari Lassiter.
Lassiter isn't the front-seven playmaker that GM Howie Roseman loves to draft in Round 1, but the secondary could use major upgrades considering that Darius Slay and James Bradberry will both be at least 31 years old come Week 1 of next season. The Eagles took Kelee Ringo in Round 4 last April and signed Eli Ricks and Josh Jobe as undrafted free agents over the past two years, but it's time to invest in a premium prospect at the position. Lassiter has seven pass breakups this season and has allowed just nine receptions.
The Eagles could us an upgrade at the slot corner spot with the injuries to Avonte Maddox ending his season, and him set to become a free agent. Another thing the team needs to start thinking about is who is the next corner to play on the outside with Darius Slay (32) and James Bradberry (30) both on the wrong side of 30.
