Eagles Moving on from Parris Campbell
According to sources, the Philadelphia Eagles will release Paris Campbell as rookie receiver Ainias Smith is eligible to return from the injured reserve with an ankle injury.
Smith was a fifth-round pick, in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The 27-year-old Campbell has six catches for 30 yards and a touchdown for Philadelphia through four games.
The Eagles signed Campbell in the offseason after he totaled 20 catches for 104 yards in 12 games with the New York Giants in 2023.
Philadelphia's receiver room is finally healthy with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both missing games due to injury earlier this season. After that, slot receiver Jahan Dotson has been disappointing since coming over in a trade with Washington, catching just six passes for 35 yards
Britain Covey is also out with a broken scapula and could be closing in on a return in the near future after he was slated to miss six weeks.
