Eagles’ Owner Jeffery Lurie in Running to Buy Boston Celtics
Could another Philadelphia team owner be buying a rival team in another league?
According to Bill Simmons on his latest podcast he said that longtime Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie is in the running to buy the Boston Celtics.

Lurie has been the Eagles owner since May 1994 and just became the 12th individual owner in NFL history to advance to four Super Bowls when the Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Simmons said on the Jan 27th edition of the Bill Simmons Podcast (1:05:40 mark) that the first round of buyers included Lurie, who is a Massachusetts native.
"I always thought the Eagles were one of the best run football teams," Simmons said. So if that happens I think that's a decent outcome."
This would be an interesting move for Lurie, who has been a popular owner, to purchase one of Philadelphia’s biggest NBA rivals.
Sixers owner Josh Harris's who is one of the principal owners of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment Group, owns one of the Eagles NFC rivals, the Washington Commanders. He also owns one of the Flyers main rivals, the New Jersey Devils.
