Eagles Rule Lane Johnson Out vs Buccaneers
On Saturday it was announced that wide receiver A.J. Brown would not be playing in Tampa against the Buccaneers, now the team has ruled Lane Johnson out.
Veteran Fred Johnson will start in his place.
Eagles fans know how much the team has struggled with Johnson out of the lineup, but will hope Fred Johnson can play as well as he did in New Orleans.
"What happened was, Tyler [Steen] and Fred [Johnson] came in and played outstanding games, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said after last weeks game in New Orleans. And as you continued on with the game, you realized, ‘Hey, you can just keep rolling with what you got because they're doing such a good job.’"
Steen came in to replace Makhi Becton at right guard, Becton is back in the lineup today.
The Eagles are just 14-23 with Lane Johnson out of the lineup.
The team will also be without A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on Sunday.
