Eagles Sign Former First-Round Pick Lewis Cine off Buffalo Practice Squad
The Philadelphia Eagles have added another former Georgia Bulldog to their defense on Wednesday, signing former Vikings first-round pick Lewis Cine and adding him to their 53-man roster.
He joins former Bulldogs Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Nolan Smith, Nakobe Dean, and Kelee Ringo on the Eagles roster.
Cine, a 2022 first-round pick, was on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad after being cut by the Vikings in training camp.
He suffered a compound fracture in 2022 and hasn't made much of an impact since being the No. 32 pick in the 2022 NFL, playing in just 11 games, and making one tackle.
He was noted for his 4.37 40-yard time at the 2022 combine and was the MVP of the National Championship game for Georgia. During this college career, he picked off two passes, 14 pass deflections, and 144 tackles during his three seasons with Georgia.
With Philadelphia, he could add to their special teams and possibly be a part of the safety room next season.
