PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - A year after claiming three players off waivers the Eagles signaled a stronger belief in their 53-man roster this time around by eschewing the wire.

Or to be more specific they weren't awarded any players.

Practice-squad candidate Aaron Neary was claimed off waivers from the Eagles by the Los Angeles Rams.

Last year after getting down to the 53 on Saturday, the Eagles claimed safety Terrence Brooks from the Baltimore Ravens, linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill from the New England Patriots, and wide receiver Bryce Treggs from the San Francisco 49ers.

To make room for those three additions, the Eagles released wide receiver Paul Turner, then-defensive tackle Taylor Hart, and cornerback C.J. Smith, who had made the roster originally.
