We now know it will be the Flyers and the Penguins in the first round of the NHL playoffs.

The two teams will face-off in a meaningless game on Saturday, but will one of these teams try to prove a point after the last time they met resulted in fights, words exchanged and bad blood.

Danny Briere said Tuesday morning that the hit Pittsburgh’s Joe Vitale administered to the Flyers’ winger Sunday was done with intent to hurt him. Briere acknowledged the hit was clean, but it’s also clear what Vitale’s intent was.

Briere is sidelined indefinitely with an upper-back contusion and will not play Saturday and could miss some of the playoff series.

Quite simply the Pens don't like the Flyers and the Flyers don't like the Pens.  Pittsburgh radio host Mark Madden frmo 105.9 X in has been critical of Flyers fans since their last meeting and joined Todd Ranck on the Sports Bash Warm-up to discuss Saturdays game, the playoffs series and more.
