Flyers Files: Reaching the Quarter-Mark
Welcome to another edition of Flyers Files, an exclusive podcast available only on 97.3 ESPN. Join 97.3 ESPN Flyers insider Kevin Durso and co-host Haley Taylor Simon as they break down the last week of Flyers hockey.
After another win capped a 3-0-0 week for the Flyers last Saturday, the team has lost their last two games in regulation, reaching the 20-game mark with an 8-10-2 record. What's the outlook so far for the Flyers? Can they still turn things around to be a potential playoff team, or is it still likely looking ahead to the draft is the right method?
The injuries have also piled up lately, with Cam York, Jamie Drysdale, Emil Andrae, and Sam Ersson all out with injury. It looks like York is close to returning and could for Saturday's game.
Meanwhile, there has been a lot to be desired from some of the forwards on this team. Who needs to step up and start producing more, and why re-entering the lineup for Morgan Frost could be one of his last chances to make any sort of lasting impression.
Finally, Saturday will mark the first meeting between Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks against Matvei Michkov. With the anticipation, John Tortorella is not waver on his approach of focusing on the greater picture of the whole team than just Michkov.
