Philadelphia Flyers vs. Seattle Kraken: How To Watch, Lineups, Keys To The Game
The month of October drags on for the Philadelphia Flyers, as an abysmal start to the season continues. The weekend was hardly kind to the Orange and Black, a mix of new injuries added to the pile and two more lopsided losses that embody the first seven games of the season.
The 0-5-2 Flyers are already on the wrong side of franchise history. They can either snap that streak or see it continue further on Tuesday night against the Seattle Kraken. Puck drop is at 7 PM.

Keys to the Game
- Do the Simple Things: A lot of what the Flyers have done so far is lacking fundamentals. Doing the simple things has been a challenge, and it's leading to "dumb" hockey. Improving on that is the first step to seeing your way out of these issues.
- Effort: It's been a code word so far this season, but you want to see some element where the effort is there. It's been called out by the coach, the GM, several players, and it needs to be put into action.
- Urgency: As one of three winless teams in the NHL and eager to show that this is not your identity, having some urgency to simply get a win would potentially make a difference.
By the Numbers
- The Flyers have eight goals in the first seven games of the season, scoring one each in the last four games. This is an average of 1.14 goals per game.
- The Flyers have allowed the first goal of the game in six of seven games this season.
- The Flyers are 0-2-1 on home ice. Seattle is 3-1-0 on the road.
Quotable
- "It's been a horrible two weeks. It's been horrible. We know it. We're the ones who have to fix it. The coaches had a day off yesterday, but they came in and they put a video together of what we could get better at." - Rick Tocchet
- "That's the standard, the outside noise. It's the same thing. You're in this business, you're going to get the heat. First of all, it's our job to protect it if you can. I'm more worried about the young guys. Those guys probably read that stuff cause they're on their phones a lot. So you try to cocoon them by good practices, video to try to calm them down. I think that's the best way. They start reading that stuff, we all read it, what happens? It drains you. If you read that stuff, I don't care who you are. I don't care if you're a normal person. Socail media will kill you if you really listen to it. That's the way we try to talk to our players about get off it if you can because when it gets national, it can get bad for sure." - Tocchet
X-Factors
- Denver Barkey: One of the few players to win a battle to set up the lone goal on Sunday, the Flyers need more of that to get out of this free fall. Barkey's known for having a good motor and can attempt to be a spark for the lineup.
- Jared McCann: The veteran forward is once again at the top of the points totals for Seattle with seven in six games. He's an effective player with some skill and good work ethic.
