Flyers’ Matt Read to Miss a Month

Another name joins the Flyers injured list as Matt Read will miss the next four weeks with what the team calls an abdominal injury.

In Sunday's win, Read was crosschecked just beneath his rib cage by Nashville Predators defenseman Petter Granberg and into the Preds' net. He left the game at 9:06 of the first period.

Read, 30, has had a bounce-back first quarter of the season. He has six goals and four assists in 27 games so far this season. Last year in 79 games he had only 26 points, a career low in a full NHL season.
