Flyers Start to New Season Overshadowed by Eagles Trading Ertz

The Flyers open up their 2021-22 season Friday Night at home against the Vancouver Canucks; The new look Flyers will debut key players at the Wells Fargo Center who were brought in to ignite a roster that missed the playoffs again last year.  In fact, since the Flyers reached the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals, they have only reached the NHL postseason six times over the last 12 years! 

But the big news of the day is the Eagles trading of Three time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl Champion Tight End Zack Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals.  In his last game as an Eagle, Ertz caught his final Touchdown Pass in an Eagles uniform.  The Eagles lost to the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28-22 on Thursday Night Football.  We will have a lot to talk about this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim!

On Saturday’s show, Scott McKay and I will review the Eagles' loss to the Bucs plus we will examine the Ertz trade and what we got in return.  The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas with his six pack of picks and we will talk with Charlie O’Connor who covers the Flyers for The Athletic.  The Sixers play their final preseason game Friday Night in Detroit.  Ben Simmons returned to Philadelphia during the week but what that means to the Sixers?  We will discuss it! 

On Sunday’s Show, Pete Thompson joins me in the studio as we recap the week in sports and the Eagles falling to 2-4 this season.  We will hear from 973ESPN.com and Fox 29 news sports anchor Scott Grayson on his impressions of the Eagles 2-4 start plus the Zack Ertz trade.  The Fantasy Football Guru Brian Hartley will give his hot plays for week six in the NFL.
