Before the 54-year spent five seasons in Philadelphia, he was a defensive coordinator in Buffalo, a head coach in Detroit and a defensive coordinator in Tennessee.

He was the defensive coordinator in Tennessee from 2001-2008 under Jeff Fisher.

He had one stint as a head coach in Detroit, as Lions head coach, going 29-47 (.382) with postseason berth.

Schwartz's defenses are known for being attacking, aggressive units that piled up sacks, a formula he used to help the Eagles win their first ever Super Bowl in 2017.

The Eagles hired Colts secondary coach Jonathan Gannon as defensive coordinator to replace Schwartz back in January.
