Outfielder Roman Quinn, who spent the last six seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, has signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins, according Marlins beat reporter Craig Mish.

In Miami, Quinn will get a invitation to MLB spring training.

Quinn hit just .228 with eight homers and 39 steals in 512 major-league plate appearances since 2016, but he is a speedster and strong outfielder.

He appeared in 28 games for the Phillies last year before undergoing season-ending surgery in May to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon.

The Phillies have yet to add an everyday center fielder, but Quinn's injury history forced them to move on from him despite his speed.

Pitchers and catchers report to Phillies spring training Sunday.
