In the aftermath of the COVID-19 Lockdowns in 2020, many people were looking for fitness activities that allowed for social distancing. So many Americans turned to a 60-year-old sports activity that is good for both beginners and intermediate athletes but also does not require close proximity for play.

First created in the 1960s, Pickleball is a less demanding variation of Tennis that also utilizes gear similar to what people use for Table Tennis.  Over the last five years, Pickelball has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States.

There are now Amateur and Professional Pickleball Tournaments around the country. In New Jersey, there are Charity Pickleball Events; for example, former Philadelphia Eagles player Conor Barwin hosts one to raise money for his foundation in Sea Isle City each summer.

Coming to South Jersey in Spring 2025 is one of the biggest national Pickleball Clubs who are opening their first New Jersey facility.
