Hurts Perfect Passer Rating Gives Eagles Perfect Performance To Build On
The Eagles defeated the Vikings last week with what some have called a perfect aerial attack. Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts opened up his offense, and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVanta Smith were the beneficiaries of Hurts' perfect Quarterback Rating.
Hurts QB rating was 158.3, going 19/23 for 326 yards and three touchdowns. If the Birds offense can replicate last week's performance in the air, and can get Saquon Barkley and the running game going, no one will beat this team, including the New York Giants.
Two weeks ago, the Giants took the Eagles out behind the woodshed and gave the Eagles a beating 34-17. The Birds look for revenge when they welcome the Giants to the Link on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1pm and The Locker Room will be Broadcasting Live from LaScala’s Beach House in Brigantine for our Eagles pregame show.
The 76ers tipped off their regular season schedule on Wednesday night in Boston with a 117-116 win. Sixers first round draft pick V.J. Edgecombe had a record-breaking performance scoring 34 points in his first game as a pro. It was the highest scoring output in a debut in Sixers History, surpassing Allen Iverson’s 30 points in his debut in 1996.
The Flyers are at .500 after their first seven games with a 3-3-1 record when they return home Saturday to face the Islanders at 12:30pm. The Flyers have the fourth-youngest team in the NHL. Tyson Foerster, Noah Cates and Owen Tippet, who average 25 years old, lead the team in goals scored. The Orange and Black need to get back in the win column for coach Tocchet. We will cover it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.
On Saturday’s show, Producer Nick Earnshaw and former Kansas City Chiefs WR Dave Klemic join me in the studio. We will talk Eagles with former Eagles Linebacker and Eagles analyst for Fox 29 news Garry Cobb. In Hour Two, we will hear from legendary Music producer and co-owner of Bachelors III nightclub with Joe Namath: Charles Wallart. Plus, we’ll get our “High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory on EHT. Sixers, Flyers, and Phillies talk will round out the show.
On Sunday, we will be Broadcasting Live from LaScala’s BeachHouse in Brigantine for our Eagles pregame show. Join me, Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda, and Josh Hennig as we get you ready for the Eagles-Giants rematch. In Hour One, we’ll get the “Keys to the Game” with Fox 29 News Sports anchor Scott Grayson brought to you by Blitz’s Market in Ocean City. In Hour Two, my Fantasy Football Guru Brian Hartley checks in, brought to you by Charlies Bar of Somers Point. The Guru will give us his picks for week eight in the NFL.
All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN radio South Jersey.
