I don't often think about what goes on in an air traffic control tower. Honestly, you probably don't give it much thought either. But over the weekend, something was caught on recording that revealed just how much fun the people up in the towers can have from time to time.

The 4th of July weekend was a stressful one for a lot of us. The weather was incredibly hectic, unpredictable, and at times violent. The traffic around the Shore was like a scene out of Mad Max: Fury Road, and a lot of events were canceled due to the unbearable heat.

Air Traffic Controllers At EWR Go Viral For Their Rainbow Appreciation Moment

That, however, did not stop a group of air traffic controllers up in the tower at EWR from taking a few moments to truly appreciate a fantastic natural wonder: a rainbow.

It was so pure, and they all seemed so joyful about this rainbow, all while still using their air traffic controller voices. It was a ton of fun to listen to. Here's a video of the recording, posted by TikTok user Keri_Ramblin:

At one point, the controllers thought the rainbow was there for Taylor Swift's wedding over the weekend. I know she has a lot of money, but I don't think she has 'control where a rainbow is' money.

Being An Air Traffic Controller Is A Very Stressful Job

This was just a fun, humanizing look at what goes on behind the scenes at air traffic control. The job is stressful enough to begin with, so taking a few moments to appreciate a rainbow can go a long way.
