If you plan to be traveling Route 42 or I-295 Thursday night into Friday morning, it's going to be a bit of a headache to get through where the two roadways connect.

As major construction efforts continue to provide motorists an easier way of accessing 295 (particularly southbound) from Route 42, a portion of both in Camden County will be closed tonight, Courier Post reports.

Here are the parts of Route 42 and I-295 that will be closed to drivers from Thursday, April 14 @ 9p through Friday, April 15 @ 6a (according to the NJ Department of Transportation):

  • Al-Jo curve, linking 295-S to Route 42-S
  • Right lane of I-295 southbound after Exit 28 for Route 168 (as repairs are made on Exit 26); motorists will be directed to stay left onto Exit 26
  • Route 42-N just past Exit 14/Leaf Avenue at Bellmawr (from 9p-5a)
  • Exit 1B to I-295 north (for repairs)

Please allow yourself extra time to get where you're going if you're traveling in any of these areas tonight, and be extra mindful of construction crews.
